BIM/IFA Aquaculture Mussel Industry Workshop and IFA Aquaculture Conference & AGM

7th & 8th April 2022

Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM), Ireland’s Seafood Development Agency, in collaboration with IFA Aquaculture, is hosting a Technical Workshop for Ireland’s mussel sector on the mornings of Thursday 7th and Friday 8th April, 2022.

Presentations and discussions at the Workshop will address the priorities of the upcoming European Maritime Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) to include the following:

  • the continued development of a sustainable and competitive sector
  • supply of quality, healthy and safe seafood
  • documentation of the carbon footprint of the Irish mussel industry and management of marine biodiversity.

** Please note the morning session will focus on the mussel sector only.

In the afternoon BIM is sponsoring the IFA Aquaculture AGM and Conference. This afternoon session is being hosted by IFA Aquaculture and will address the interests of its members.

On the following day, Friday April 8, BIM is organising a demonstration to show how invasive species are being monitored for shellfish exporters, including a site visit to Blackshell Farm Ltd sea site.
